The event was organized by Lic. Evan Garcia the Commissar of Puerto Marques, with the financial help of Ernesto
Rodríguez Escalona, the candidate of the PRI for the office of Mayor of Acapulco.

In reality, many people in many ways helped to put this event together, and the inauguration was a complete success.
The first event, after the parade, was a dancing horse contest. Seven beautiful horses competed, including Hercules, the Galiceño small horse of Acapulco. Through this contest, all of the contestants shows great capacity of movement, and discipline, but el Mercenario ridden by Luis Ortega, and la India ridden by her trainer Leopoldo Arteaga ended in a tie for first place. After the final demonstration between these two horses, la India won, without a doubt by the applause of the audience, and Leopoldo Arteago took the trophy for first place.

There was bull riding every evening for the rest of the week. Different bulls were loaned from various ranches of Guerrero, all showing strength and beauty, giving a good performance every night. Fortunately there were no injuries, and everybody had a lot of fun. It's over now, so we wait for the second Festival next year.
